Halitosis refers to the foul odor emanating from the oral cavity or other air – filled cavities such as the nose, sinuses and pharynx. Oral local disorders are the primary causes of halitosis, but it should not be overlooked that halitosis is also often an oral manifestation of some severe systemic diseases, and certain organic disorders can also lead to halitosis.
